Three Cheers for newLISP

Post by mcandre »

I just wanted to say that newLISP is everything Common Lisp should have been. The current CL situation is embarrassing. SBCL won't run on Xen. CLISP won't run with threads. This library only runs on LispWorks. That library only runs on Armored Bear. There is no standard way to get ARGV. Only CLISP has tab completion. It's a gamble whether you leave CL with (exit), (quit), or something more exotic. Few CLs have installers. Most CLs work only on Unix. A few are proprietary.

Thank you newLISP for existing!

:) Getting some of the bigger languages up and running is quite an effort sometimes. I hear Quicklisp is the best of the bunch, if you want to do the CommonLisp thing.
