Commenting conventions

Is there any kind of convention for how many semicolons to use for comments? I suppose newlispdoc has kind of 'reserved' the use of two semicolons followed by a space at the start of a line...

newlispdoc has kind of 'reserved' the use of two semicolons followed by a space at the start of a line..
... and that is the only rule. Lines with only one semicolon will be ignored by newlispdoc. Note that there is also the # working as a comment character.
