Collaborative real-time editors

Post by Fanda »

"A collaborative real-time editor is a kind of text editor that allows simultaneous editing of the same text by different participants using different computers."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collaborat ... ime_editor

Fun to use editors, if you don't want to write your code/notes/documents alone :)

I have tried 2 of them so far:
Gobby - completely free, can be hard to install
MoonEdit - free for non-commercial use, very small and easy to install

Have fun, Fanda

If you wanted to see, how it looks like, download this movie:

More serious work is done here :-)

I was also thinking that it could be a good way how to share our functions. MoonEdit can run as a server that allows sharing multiple files and anybody can edit them in the real-time. Connection to the server and to any file can be protected by the password.
