head logo for ww.newlisp.org

Post by newdep »

Oke we need to help out here a hand i think ;-)

The website is moving lutz ;-) But still the logo on the top needs a hand..
I always prefer a fullheader width..

here is my example for the main page of www.newlisp.org

And sure... others have nicer examples..let them come ;-)

Ah, more fun! And I'm pleased to see all that centred text on the way out... !:)

Tricky to design a banner with all that white - need some colour at the top I think ...

First thoughts - the original dragonfly has to stay - otherwise all other dragonflies don't make sense...? Is the slogan ("puts the fun back") too 'provocative'?

This:

needs to be on a coloured background that stretches to the edges though...

..or how about a faint background image with newlisp code scattered around? Also, I like designs that use all or most of the screen...

aaa nice folks ..keep 'm coming...

As for restirctions..there are none.. I only though to remove the slogan
but ofcourse a good slogan (quote 'xytroxon) is always welcome ;-)

Ps: i wanted the yellow dragonfly logo with a circle of text around it
quoting a slogan..Could not get it fixed ;-)

Yeah..nice move....
Il like the text by the logo...nice and simple..

Ofcourse the slogan must be ...
..well..depend on the public you try to attract or scare off..
But there must be FUN for sure ;-)

ah once I get started I don't want to stop..

just tell me to stop! :)

Actually I quite like Lutz' previous idea... but I'm not sure which slogan would be the best.

Playing around at this site:
http://www.xtvworld.com/free_logo_creator.html

I combined three images of:

(define
(newLISP)
(programming language) )

Into this.
Image

Thinking about it more an idea for design is to add the links as an image

Code: Select all

(define

Code: Select all

(newLISP)

Code: Select all

(Home)

Code: Select all

(About)

Code: Select all

(News)
etc...

Code: Select all

)
So it would look something like:

Code: Select all

logo (define (newLISP) ; to boldly... etc.
logo (Home)(About)(News)(Downloads) etc. )
----

Got to go now...

cormullion, the one fourth from the top rocks! I wonder: if the squiggles were actually left and right parentheses, would it look as cool? That's what I thought the squiggles were when I first looked at them. I also much prefer the dragonfly you used to the one inside the orange marble...but maybe that's just me.

I think cormullion mentioned opendesign.org in another thread and provided an example. Ok, in the same spirit,
a modified opendesign template

Just messing around, of course. The possibilities are endless.

the one I like doesn't have a circle and is made of parentheses, and the one that looks like a marble doesn't even look close to the same, so I think we're ok.

Here are some designs Melissa and I worked on this weekend. There are four variations in three color schemes.

I modified the opendesign template I found with my favorite one of Michael's banners. I think the template looks pretty good, myself :)

Hmm, that makes me want to see a random motto from the 101 motto thread every time I load the page :)

Yes, tom - if you could make the blue colour expand to fill up that top box (and so that it resizes properly :) - I think that would be a great design. Always a pleasure to watch masters (and mistresses) at work...!

ok, I messed with the template some more. Now I think it resizes ok down to 800x600, and one of the 101 mottos pops up on every page load...

this is fun.
