Re: Artful Code
I concur w/ cormullion that core upgrades to dfly should be separate from customizations. Drupal does a pretty good job with this. http://api.drupal.org/api/drupal See diagrams: http://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&hl=en&source=hp&q=drupal+diagram+architecture&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2&biw=1400&bih=...

newLISP Programmer for Hire?
Hi,
I have a small project and would be needing a neLISP programmer.
I would like to know what your hourly rate would be. Thank you very much!

Simple nL Web Page in http mode
Hi - I am working on my local machine (Linux Mint < Ubuntu < Debian) and trying to get a simple web page to load. I ran this newLISP command to get the server running: newlisp -http -d 8080 -w /home/joe/newlisping/web And inside of the web directory I have a file called go.lsp which is this: #!/usr/...

newLISP + Cherokee Web Server
Hi, is it possible to have nL serve pages through Cherokee Web Server?
http://www.cherokee-project.com/
If so, how do you allow them to work together?
Is it just creating nL .cgi files and calling them from the browser from the proper location?
Thanks much!

Keep up the great work Ryon. We all appreciate your space.

newLISP Tutors?
Hi - Just curious to know if there are any nL tutors out there, and if so, where are you located and how much would you cost per hour? In person tutoring. I have a couple projects I am working on and they would go much faster if I could pay someone to guide me along for a couple hours+ a week. Thank...

Re: new forum look
I like how tight and fast everything feels on the new site. Super thanks Ryon! One concern is that nL newbies, like myself, will not be able to log in. If it asks a newLISP programming question and I were just a person wanting to join the community and ask a couple newbie questions, I think I would ...

Re: New site for newLisp and Live Code
Im interested.
Is this the homepage?

Edit Added:
I believe this is the license to LiveCode:
http://revmedia.runrev.com/company/livecode-license/
It does not appear to be free software.

Looks like they might have updated their site.
The link you pasted is a 404 Not Found.
This might the new one: http://www.kane-box.com/
Looks like Lutz is the software man: http://www.kane-box.com/team.html
Pretty cool looking product for sure!

Re: dolist or not dolist
Perhaps what you're forgetting is that lists can be simple or structured/nested/hierarchical That is precisely what I was missing. I went back to your Introduction http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Introduction_to_newLISP and re-read the section on flat . http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Introduction_to_new...

Re: dolist or not dolist
I cant figure why it is not doing unique and sort to the results list: #!/usr/bin/newlisp (dolist (url '("http://www.newlisp.org" "http://newlisp.nfshost.com/wiki/")) (push (find-all {[a-zA-Z]+} (replace "<[^>]+.*+>" (get-url url) "" 0)) result)) (println (unique (sort result))) (exit) I am seeing d...

Re: dolist or not dolist
Without knowing what the find-all stuff is doing, I'm guessing that this is one way of writing the sort of thing you want: (dolist (url '("http://mysite.com" "http://mysite.com" "http://mysite.com")) (push (find-all {[a-zA-Z]+} (replace "<[^>]+.*+>" (get-url url) "" 0)) result)) (println (unique (s...

Hi - I still know next to nothing nL but I have patched together this with help: (set 'result (unique (sort (find-all {[a-zA-Z]+} (replace "<[^>]+.*+>" (get-url "http://mysite.com/") "" 0) ) ))) (println result) (exit) I am trying to now pull from multiple of my sites, so I want to get-url mysite.co...

Re: find-all code in manual not producing expected output
newLISP v.10.2.8 on Linux would this be the reason? When I say I get no result, I mean that Ive put the code into a text file, saved it and run the script from the shell: joe@asdf ~/newlisping $ cat gogo (unique (sort (find-all {[a-zA-Z]+} (replace "<[^>]+>" (get-url "http://newlisp.org") "" 0) ) ))...

find-all code in manual not producing expected output
I am trying this bit of code from the manual here: http://www.newlisp.org/downloads/newlisp_manual.html#find-all (unique (sort (find-all {[a-zA-Z]+} (replace "<[^>]+>" (get-url "http://newlisp.org") "" 0) ) )) which is said to produce: → ("A" "ACC" "AI" "API" "About" "All" "Amazing" "Apps" ... Thanks cormullion :)
I dont yet know enough to make use of the code you put in your post, but I used the example above this from the manual and it works great, no errors.
I appreciate the help. Thanks cormullion and Lutz!
