The httpd logging is works great! Now I can see what is going on between server and client. And the new cgi capabilities extend the control we have using newLISP on a network. Enlightening and useful. Great stuff!

Logging httpd activity

The new httpd server with CGI in v.9.0.18 newLISP is very convenient, but I don't see a provision for logging server activity. newlisp -L -c -d 8080 -w c:/my-project logs only the first connection, and newlisp -L http-conf.lsp -http 8080 -w c:/my-project doesn't work at all. It appears that I am mis...

The web server was physically relocated a couple of weeks ago, and we were also down briefly for a software upgrade to the BBS. A few minor tweaks were made to keep out spammers during the following days, but other than that nothing much has been happening. There have been no system outages in the p...

That's odd! Let's try a test:

Code: Select all

  sys("./vuln", $payload);

Yes, I had to change the above to "sys" also. It appears that the web host is blocking this text in mod_security.

Lutz' documentation is as elegant as his coding. It may be terse, but it's absolutely spot-on. Take the time to understand the terms that he uses to describe newLISP, you'll learn a lot about computer science as well.

How does Tk respond to calls to ports 64001 and 64002? Could we write a newLISP function that checks to see if there's anything there?

newLISP-TK has been out for some time, and is very stable. The only trouble I've had with Windows is that sometimes it will leave a process running. You might do the Ctl-Alt-Del thing to see if it has left an orphan. Other than that, have you tried to delete the folder and install from a new download?
