Re: Eric Raymond Blog - Small community scripting languages
Seems simple enough, enter your email address in the Control Panel, check the Notify Me box, and things should work! I've verified that you did this correctly and also ran a check on our mail server, and everything seems to be in order. So, why isn't this working? This seems to have been a common is...

I'll bet that's just what he's doing, Ted! Those Caltecies really know how to party! Seriously, we are very fortunate to have Lutz Mueller, the author of newLISP himself come to explain the language, and spend so much of his time and considerable knowledge helping us here. Thanks for all your great ...

Sorry to hear about Jeff Fox. He was part of a computer movement that I found extremely interesting -- Forth. It was so understandable, so logical. It made the world of computer programming accessible to ordinary guys like me. Great memories! I never understood exactly what happened, but the world w...

My apologies to anyone who has tried to register recently. There was a misconfiguration with our mail server, and our confirmations weren't being sent out.

Re: Some topics not appearing in "View Active Topics"?
Ryon, thanks for keeping this site alive and kickin! You rock! Thank you joejoe, for the nice thought! But I'll have to admit that I don't actually rock -- I still don't have this site migrated to the new server. This shouldn't affect availability or operation, though. But I DID fix the active topi...

Expect some strangeness for the next few days, as we once again do the "server shuffle".
It should be worked out before the end of the week.

Spam attack -- Update: All clear.
We had a nice little spam attack earlier today. Thank you all who alerted me, and helped delete the spam messages! There were quite a few new "registrations" that I agonized over, worried that I might be deleting legitimate new Members. Many other sites have been hit as well, and new Member registra...

Took a while to find the problem. There was a "20" where there should have been a "0".
We should be running normally now. New registrants, if you haven't received a confirming email, let me know. Sorry again for the trouble!

There is a misconfiguration in the mail server that prevents it from sending out confirmations. I will send notices to our recent registrants as soon as this is fixed.

It looks like we will have to move our hosting again, darn it. This site will be down temporarily while we make the move.

nLFC scheduled downtime
This newLISP Fan Club forum will be down for about four hours on Monday, July 9, 9:30 UTC while we transfer to a newer and better server. But the site will probably be unavailable for longer, while the new IP address propagates.
Sorry for the disruption, but we'll still be here!

"A problem properly stated is half solved" is a phrase that comes to mind here. It sounds to me that you are trying to solve too many big problems all at once. Peter van Eerten has a great page on using newLISP with OpenGL at http://www.turtle.dds.nl/gl4newlisp/ Maybe this will help with the graphic...
